The basionym given for the new combination Haslea fusiformis (Grunow) Lobban & Perez is wrongly given as N. fusiformis Grunow 1877, since Grunow equated this with Berkeleya fusidium Grunow 1867, referring to the same Honduras sample, which we examined. He gives his reasons for changing his mind about the generic assignment, but he should have kept the epithet fusidium. The following correction is therefore needed to legitimize our change:
Haslea fusidium (Grunow) Lobban & Perez, n. comb.
Basionym: Berkeleya fusidium Grunow 1867, Hedwigia 6, p. 17
Synonyms: Navicula fusiformis Grunow 1877 (nom. illegit.)
Haslea ostrearia (Gaillon) var. fusiformis (Grunow) Sauvageau
Haslea ostrearia (Gaillon) Simonsen (in part) (and in Poulin et al. 2019)
Thanks to R.L. Moe for bringing this to our attention.
