It is with a sense of great honour and responsibility that I assume the editorship of International Studies in the Philosophy of Science. I take up the baton from James McAllister who led the journal for almost 20 years with solid commitment and great care for the articles published in it. I have published in ISPS and I know from personal experience how attentive, meticulous, fair, uncompromising, knowledgeable, encouraging and helpful he was. Under his leadership, the journal has grown and has established itself as a major venue to publish important research in the philosophy of science. I, and the associate editors I am delighted to work with, Miles MacLeod and Maria Panagiotatou, intend to follow in his footsteps and I hope we can live up to the task and the example he set.

Philosophy of science was, from its origins, an inclusive and diverse field spreading over various sciences and themes and it is even more so now. Accordingly, our aim is to have an inclusive and diverse journal that will keep abreast of all new developments in philosophy of science and breed and embrace new ideas that will carry the discipline and the profession further into the future. In that journey, we will welcome and solicit high-quality papers from new researchers and established scholars and will rely on the advice of our referees whose judgement and criticism we deeply value. They are the custodians of the discipline. Philosophy of science was also from its origins, internationally bound and we aim to honour and extend the journal’s international reach.

We would like to thank our Editorial Board for their steadfast commitment to the journal and their trust in us. We would also like to express our appreciation to the team at Taylor & Francis for their unremitting support and continuous assistance in the transition period and beyond. We want to assure our readers and our contributors, our referees and the Editorial Board that, in the changing times of academic publishing, we will work hard to maintain high-quality standards and provide a welcoming platform for launching important research.
