ABSTRACT

Striped bass x white bass hybrids (wipers) implanted with ultrasonic tags were monitored in Marion Reservoir, Kansas, for 460 hours between March 1987 and October 1988. Although most contacts occurred during daylight, these wipers were most active during the hours between dusk and dawn during the spawning and summer seasons. They did not exhibit seasonal uplake and downlake movements or establish home ranges. The tagged wipers were most frequently located near submerged channels during the spring and summer and near shore during the remainder of the year.
