ABSTRACT
A new genus and species of paracanthopterygian fish, †Massamorichthys wilsoni gen. et sp. nov., from the Paleocene Paskapoo Formation of Alberta is described. The fossil locality is a mass-death layer, discovered in 1984 at the Joffre Bridge Roadcut locality near Red Deer, Alberta. More than 1,750 specimens of the new paracanthopterygian have been recovered from this site.
