ABSTRACT
Precision design of narrow-beam or shaped-beam slot arrays in reduced-height, dielectric-filled or substrate-integrated waveguide demands accurate control over the excitation of individual elements. Conventional design methods are restricted by assumptions pertaining to the symmetry of slot fields and the simplified shunt-element equivalent circuit for slots. In this paper, we present a detailed formulation of a design technique that accommodates asymmetric slots fields and uses the full T-network equivalent circuit for each slot. The method is efficient and capable of rapid design of arrays of arbitrary dimension.
