Abstract

This article discusses the development and evolution of a shared services model for the delivery of library resources and services at Career Education Corporation; the benefits and challenges faced by the librarians involved, systems, and software used; and how it differs from other collaborative library ventures.

In this article, the term library refers to electronic resources and the virtual library services, including reference support, provided by librarians. Library resources, in the context of this discussion, are inclusive of a centralized shared access to electronic databases. Library services, in this context, are inclusive of how virtual reference is set up.
