Pages 75-79 | Published online: 18 May 2016

ABSTRACT

Although the growth in popularity of graphic novels among readers of all ages and the expansion of graphic novels in both public and academic libraries has been well defined in library literature, the inclusion of graphic novels in community and junior college libraries has received little attention. The purpose of this article is to begin the conversation about the role graphic novels play in community and junior college libraries. Additionally, the article outlines the benefits graphic novels provide community and junior college patrons and gives librarians suggestions on how to select and display graphic novels.
