Erratum: Dust Generator for Inhalation with Limited Amounts of Archived Particulate Matter

Page 282 | Published online: 26 Mar 2010

Aerosol Science and Technology 39(2): 85–91

We inadvertently failed to recognize the contribution Paul Baron and co-workers, who originally reported the method of mixing the bed material and dust to be generated and metering the mixture using a felt-coated wheel into the generator, which consisted of a mechanically fluidized bed. Their work was originally presented as poster 4PI4 at the 2001 AAAR Conference in Portland, Oregon. The generator was also described in the Proceedings of the Inhaled Particles IX Symposium (Baron et al. 2002). Our generator is essentially the same as Baron et al., but with a smaller tube for the bed, a separate air feed device, and a method of removing the bed material with a cyclone. We are indebted to Dr. Baron and co-workers for their contribution of an efficient dry aerosol generation system using a mechanically fluidized bed.
