Meet the Acta Oncologica editorial board

Pages 1-3 | Received 25 Nov 2019, Accepted 26 Nov 2019, Published online: 03 Dec 2019

As every journal Acta Oncologica depends upon our Associate Editors for success. It is with great pleasure that I introduce our new Editorial Board.

Acta Oncologica publishes a breath of scientific articles in oncology - from genetic epidemiology to radiation therapy and from treatment predictive biomarkers to survivorship perspectives. The journal is the scientific periodical of the Nordic Societies of Oncology and the Nordic Association of Medical Physics [Citation1–3]. Leading clinical cancer researchers from the Nordic countries bring various expertise in cancer research and clinical oncology, methodologic skills and statistical knowledge to the Editorial board.

We are proud of the direction that the journal has taken with an increasing and improving number of submissions to the current 1000 submissions annually. This allows us publication of relevant and timely content and is reflected in an increasing impact factor that is at present 3.3 [Citation4,Citation5]. Acta Oncologica offers early online availability and free open access after 6 months. Our print version has been terminated and all content back to the 1960’ies is available online.

Our ten Associate Editors work to expedite editorial handling and to grant authors rapid, authoritative and fair evaluations (). The Associate Editors cover complementary areas and have manuscripts assigned to them based on topic. They also support in the review process and ensure that decisions about publication are shared between reviewers and editors. The editorial board meets regularly to evaluate services and performance, discuss overall goals and trends, prioritise special issues and initiatives and advise on strategy to respond to the widening horizons in modern oncology [Citation6,Citation7].
