Play Memories from Childhood to Adulthood

Abstract

The study has the purpose of examining, describing and increasing the understanding of the significance of play by highlighting play experiences of a group of adults and examining how play appears to adults and what role they attach to. The overall method is retrospective. To fully understand the situation today, the development over time must be reviewed. This study has a descriptive design which means that a partial focus is on known phenomenon, with an ambition to get more knowledge about the subject. The data collection consists of drawn memories of play and a questionnaire, and 478 students participated. The results show that ages 7‐12 years have had a special importance in play memories.
