Abstract
The significance of recent errors in wasp‐related papers is discussed. The most serious error is corrected: the view that “insects [other than the parasitoid Sphecophaga vesparum] known to attack wasp colonies are not considered to be suitable as biological control agents in New Zealand” is held by Landcare Research scientists, but not by Barry Donovan. The interpretation of recent findings on the impact of S. vesparum on introduced Vespula wasps is debated.
