Abstract
Beef calves weaned at 6 months of age and dosed with selenium gained 8.7 kg (15.2%) more live weight from 6 to 15 months of age than undosed calves. Several treatments were compared, with best results for calves dosed at weaning and 6 months later at the termination of supplementary feeding. No live-weight response was evident after drenching with an anthelmintic.
