Abstract

Selenium prills were applied to 5% of the grazed area on four properties. The rate was equivalent to 17 g Se/ha of selenate for the whole area. Over 1 year the prills raised the concentration of selenium in the blood of livestock to levels that would both prevent seleniurn deficiency and provide meat acceptable for human consumption.
