The World Bank 2005 study Reshaping the Future: Education and Postconflict Reconstruction (Washington, DC: World Bank) covers 52 countries or territories affected by war or intermediate conflict since 1990 and suggests that over two million children have died and another six million have been seriously injured or permanently disabled as a direct result of armed conflict.
