Naomi F. Miller is a consulting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania Museum, where she was on the curatorial team for the recently (2018) installed Middle East Galleries. She has participated as an archaeobotanist on excavations in Iran, Turkey, Syria, Turkmenistan, and elsewhere. She has written extensively on environment and land use in the ancient Middle East and on Mesopotamian plant iconography. She has also been working on botanical approaches to archaeological site conservation and historical landscape and biodiversity preservation at Gordion, Turkey.
