ABSTRACT

This study, describes a method (SWASV) for measuring 2-mercaptobenzothiazole (2-MBT), a semi-volatile heteroaromatic pollutant compound present in water samples, was prepared using G-C3N4 nanosheets sensor. Although the other methods (gas or liquid chromatographic, electrophoresis, flow injection) for measuring 2-MBT have advantages such as excellent accuracy and reproducibility, it has limitations such as long-time measurement and high equipment cost. Here, we report the use of an electrochemical approach for analytical determination of 2-MBT that takes 100 s. The calibration curve was linear in the range of 0.02 to 20.0 µgL−1. The current response was linearly proportional to the 2-MBT concentration with an R2~0.998. We demonstrated a sensitivity of a limit of detection of 0.023 µg L−1. Finally, sensor nanosheets G-C3N4/CPE have been successfully applied for the determination of 2-MBT in different kinds of water samples. The method introduced to measure 2-MBT in real samples such as water samples was used and can be used for other samples.
