Abstract
The reorientation of the national Health Service towards health, reflected in the publication of National Strategies For Health, has increased the need for professional development courses in Health Promotion. In conflict with the need is the restriction of study leave for many professionals, so that for courses to recruit, they have to be very short—even just one day. The paper reviews features of a one-day course that ensure that learning outcomes are of maximum value to participants. The curriculum for a one-day course is provided as an example of those features.
