Abstract

d,1-(3-acetoxy-1 octadecylthio)-2 propylphosphorylcholine 1c was synthesized using a selective cleavage of the ester of the secondary alcohol of the corresponding diacetylated derivative. This method could be used with advantage in the synthesis of other phospholipids as it avoids an isomerization by internal transacylation.
