A Problem Solving Approach to Social Work Education

Abstract

A ‘Problem Solving’ approach to teaching an introductory practice course is described. Students, working in groups, are required to apply their existing knowledge and experience to a range of problems encountered in professional practice. Only then are they introduced to structured learning materials and experiences.
