Abstract

In this study, biological activity of 70 Streptomyces isolates was evaluated against Verticillium dahliae and Fusarium sambucinum by dual culture techniques. Among all isolates which were screened, isolate C-1 showed high level of activity on agar disc and well diffusion methods against V. dahliae and F. sambucinum. Active time was monitored in shaked culture; Streptomyces isolate C-1 activities reached maximum after 10 and 4 days against V. dahliae and F. sambucinum, respectively. Different temperature and pH effects were also evaluated on mycelial growth of Streptomyces sp. isolate C-1. Evaluation of relative polarity of the active and pH effects on principle present in the crude showed that it has polar nature and was rather alkaliphilic. Also, this isolate has high salt tolerance and observed to have fungicidal activity against V. dahliae and F. sambucinum.
