Study on the Die Swell Influence of Nano-Titanium Dioxide on the PP/PT-PVA Blend Melt

Abstract

The hollow micro porous fiber used to prevent the decrease of the antiseptic and decomposition function of TiO2 in the fiber due to the coverage of polymer. For mending the breaking of fiber that was apt to crack after treatment, the viscosity and die swell ratio of PP/PT-PVA/TiO2 were investigated. It has been found that the elasticity of blend melt will be too large due to the existence of TiO2. It may produce the breach in the fiber surface after binding, thus the fiber is apt to be affected by external force to generate the break.
