Abstract

In this article, we propose two nonparametric side sensitive group runs based univariate control charts to detect shifts in the process median using sample based “transition probability matrix” (tpm) namely “Nonparametric Corrected Sample based Side Sensitive Synthetic” (N-CS-SSS) and “Nonparametric Sample based Side Sensitive Group Runs” (N-S-SSGR) control charts respectively. We study the zero state and the steady state ATS performance of the proposed two charts. It is observed that, N-S-SSGR chart performs better than that of the “Nonparametric Sample based two sided Synthetic” (N-S-Syn), N-CS-SSS and “Nonparametric Sample based two sided Group Runs” (N-S-GR) charts.
