Abstract

This article presents a unified treatment of the state of the art in two stage tests of hypotheses. These partial sequential tests also known as double sample tests offer a compromise between fixed sample size and pure sequential tests. Two stage tests offer many of the- benefits of pure sequential Lests while minimizing their logistical and scheduling problems. Each section contains a description of the test a nonmathematical discussion and a mathematical development.
