Pages 203-210 | Published online: 18 May 2009

Abstract

This article poses questions and problems that the director of the basic‐communication course must resolve. Three important concerns are discussed: the development of course purposes, procedures for organizing the course, and administrative policies. By being prepared to face the kinds of questions and problems presented here, the director of the basic course can develop purposes, procedures and policies more systematically.
