Training and Technology: Improving the Quality and Timeliness of Service Plans and Case Documentation

Abstract

Casey Family Services has developed a case review process that helps ensure the quality and timeliness of service plans for children and families and other case documentation. Agency staff completes case reviews in a database that provides individualized feedback to social workers and supervisors and aggregate feedback to the agency. Casey has seen substantial improvements in the quality of service plans and more timely completion of case documentation and preliminary indications of improved case practice. Its experience provides important strategies that other agencies may use.
