Design and Analysis of Memristor-based Combinational Circuits

ABSTRACT

This paper presents a novel memristor-based combinational circuit, namely: 4:2 priority encoders, 2:4 decoder, and BCD to EX-3 code converter. The performance of all these logic circuits is analyzed with respect to equivalent CMOS. The proposed work extends the philosophy of designing gate level circuit and then using the basic gate design to implement the combinational circuit. Memristor gates are used to implement the desired logic function. In the proposed work, memristor-based novel XOR gate is designed. This gate is then utilized to implement the encoder, decoder, and BCD to EX-3 code converter circuits. The proposed circuits have the advantage like low transistor count, high speed, and low power. The simulation is carried out in LTSPICE.

Anuradha Singh received B. Tech. degree from Zakir Hussain College of Engineering and technology, A.M.U, in 2003, M.Tech. degree from Sharda University, Greater Noida, in 2017. After completing B.Tech, she has worked at the Syscom Technologies for two years and Honeywell for a year. She has been in the research area of memristive systems and devices for around two years with the ECE Department, Sharda University since 2015. She is presently working as a teacher cum research professional at NSIT, New Delhi. Her research interests include analog electronics, VLSI systems, and nano-electronics-based systems. She has been credited with three papers published in different international journals and conferences.
