Abstract
An attempt has been made to analyze the areal distribution of climatic features which influence man's comfort in Africa. Monthly and annual indices were applied to about 800 stations. According to the findings the year-round mildest regions occur in the eastern highlands and along cool-current coasts while greatest heat stress is experienced along the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and interior Somalia.
