POPULAR AFRICAN HERPETOLOGICAL LITERATURE—A PERSONAL VIEW

Pages 30-40 | Published online: 08 Nov 2010

ABSTRACT

A personal view of the popular literature relating to African reptiles and amphibians is given, with anecdotes on some of Africa's most colourful and productive herpetologists. The author notes the lack of popular literature dealing with the herpetofaunas of many Central and West African countries. Only for Southern Africa is there a useful and comprehensive literature.
