Sensitivity Analysis in Generalized Polynomial Programming

Pages 114-119 | Received 01 Dec 1973, Published online: 09 Jul 2007

Abstract

In recent years, the quantitative analysis of engineering design problems has been greatly influenced by the development of Geometric Programming. This technique is particularly effective in dealing with nonlinear design problems subject to nonlinear constraints. Inherent in any design analysis is the accurate determination of the technological coefficients involved in the problem formulation. This paper addresses itself to the problem of “fuzzy” data, and presents a technique based on Geometric Programming to perform nonlinear sensitivity analysis. An example problem is formulated and solved to illustrate the computational procedure.
