The Lubrication of Miniature Polymeric Systems—a Review

Pages 520-525 | Published online: 25 Mar 2008

Abstract

In this review the effect of lubrication on the tribological behavior of miniature polymeric systems is discussed. Lubrication of miniature polymeric systems is a very effective way to improve their tribological properties, especially to reduce wear. The oil should wet and not dissolve the polymer. The migration of oil from the miniature polymeric systems needs the use of epilames (anti-migration coatings).
