The journal has benefited tremendously from its previous nine-year association with the National Research Council (NRC) Press located in Ottawa, Canada. We thank all of the editorial staff at NRC who provided tremendous support and guidance to the journal and to the Canadian Phytopathological Society (CPS) over the period 2001–2009.
The new publication arrangements with Taylor and Francis Group will provide a number of new opportunities for the Canadian Journal of Plant Pathology in the future. The following describes the changes that the journal has undergone with the new change-over to Taylor and Francis Group:

A new cover design that will feature prominently colour photo selections from two articles in each issue.

Reduced page charges for both CPS members and nonmembers. The new charges, effective in 2010, are Cdn. $40.00/50.00 per page for members/nonmembers. To become a member of CPS and receive the reduced member rate, please visit the Society web site.

Free print reproduction of colour figures for four articles in each issue, to be designated by the Editor-in-Chief. Authors will be notified of the selection at the time of manuscript acceptance.

Free PDF to be provided to the corresponding author of each published paper.

Free reprints (50) to be provided to the corresponding author of each published paper.

Free copy to be provided to the lead author of the particular issue in which the article appears.

Articles may be submitted in English or in French. All article abstracts will continue to be published in both languages, with translation services provided by the journal for a nominal fee.

Publication of review or minireview articles at no charge to authors. These will be on recent or emerging topics. Authors are invited to contact the Editor-in-Chief prior to preparation of these articles for acceptance of topics and waiver of page charges.

Publication of Symposium papers and abstracts from annual and regional meetings of CPS.

Provisions to be made for publication of supplementary data in accepted manuscripts.

An annual prize of Cdn. $500.00 to be awarded for the Best Student Paper published by a graduate student as senior author. The student must be a CPS member and identify themselves as such for consideration of this award. The selection will be made at year-end by the CJPP Editorial Board.

A Taylor and Francis Student Travel Award in the amount of Cdn. $500.00 to be presented annually to a graduate student to attend and present a research paper at the CPS annual meeting. The awardee will be selected by the CPS Awards Committee.
We are anticipating a broader international distribution and submission of papers from authors world-wide who have an interest in publishing their plant pathology research. The Editorial Board of the Canadian Journal of Plant Pathology looks forward to receiving your manuscript submissions and to your continued support of our journal.

Ce numéro inaugural de la Revue canadienne de phytopathologie (RCP) (janvier–mars 2010) sera le premier publié par Taylor & Francis, maison d'édition d'envergure internationale dont le siège social est situé à Abingdon, Oxon, au Royaume-Uni (www.Informaworld.com).
La Revue a bien profité de son association de neuf ans avec les Presses scientifiques du Conseil national de recherches Canada localisées à Ottawa, Canada. Nous tenons donc à remercier tous les membres du comité de rédaction qui ont guidé et fermement soutenu la Revue et la Société canadienne de phytopathologie (SCP) de 2001 à 2009.
La nouvelle entente avec le Groupe Taylor & Francis laisse miroiter un avenir fécond en occasions favorables pour la Revue canadienne de phytopathologie. Les points suivants décrivent les changements que la Revue a subis depuis son passage chez le nouvel éditeur:

Un coÛt par page rajusté à la baisse, et ce, tant pour les membres de la SCP que les non-membres. Les nouveaux tarifs en vigueur en 2010 sont de 40,00 $ CA pour les membres et de 50,00 $ CA pour les non-membres. Reproduction gratuite des imprimés des figures en couleur pour quatre articles dans chaque numéro. Celles-ci seront choisies par le rédacteur en chef. Les auteurs seront avisés du choix après acceptation du manuscrit.

Un exemplaire gratuit pour l'auteur principal d'un numéro dans lequel paraît l'article.

Les articles peuvent être soumis en anglais ou en français. Tous les résumés d'articles seront publiés dans les deux langues. La Revue offre des services de traduction pour un coÛt minimal.

Publication gratuite des synthèses ou des minisynthèses. Ces dernières devront traiter de sujets récents ou novateurs. Les auteurs sont invités à contacter le rédacteur en chef avant de préparer ce type d'article afin de faire approuver le sujet et valider l'exemption de frais.

Publication des articles du Symposium et des résumés des réunions annuelles et régionales de la SCP.

Dispositions permettant la publication de données supplémentaires incluses dans des manuscrits approuvés.

Un prix annuel de 500,00 $ CA remis dans le cadre de la meilleure communication étudiante publiée, à titre d'auteur principal, par un étudiant des cycles supérieurs. Pour être admissible, l'étudiant doit être un membre en règle de la SCP. Le choix sera fait par le conseil de rédaction de la RCP, à la fin de l'année.

Une bourse de voyage de 500,00 $ CA sera présentée chaque année par Taylor & Francis à un étudiant des cycles supérieurs pour lui permettre d'assister à la réunion annuelle de la SCP et d'y présenter un rapport de recherche. Le récipiendaire sera choisi par le comité des prix de la SCP.
Nous escomptons une distribution internationale accrue ainsi que des articles soumis par des auteurs du monde entier qui souhaitent faire publier leurs recherches en phytopathologie. C'est avec impatience que le conseil de rédaction de la RCP attend vos manuscrits et, parallèlement, il espère que vous réaffirmerez votre soutien notre revue.
