Abstract

Metacognition is a broad term used to describe the cognitive processes associated with learning, and it relates to the act of thinking about our own thinking. This article addresses several strategies that can be used to optimize metacognitive processes as they specifically relate to the performance of physical skills in a competitive athletics setting.
