ABSTRACT
This paper deals with some aspects of load frequency self-tuning regulator through a governor and voltage controls for an interconnected power system. A multivariable self-tuning controller is derived by defining a cost function with a term for presenting the constraints on the control effort and then by minimizing it with respect to the control vector. The proposed method is applied to a two-area system provided with nonreheat type turbines and the control effects of the proposed regulator are examined by using digital simulations.
