Abstract

The ferroelectric phase transition of thallium dihydrogen phosphate has been studied by Brillouin scattering spectroscopy. A step-like anomaly has been detected near the transition temperature for longitudinal acoustic phonon propagating perpendicular to the polar axis. This behaviour is compared with other compounds of the KDP family.
