Abstract
A substituted magnesium titanate material series with compositional formula Mg2-xAl2xTil-xO4, x varying from 0 to 1.0, was synthesized. The samples were prepared by conventional dry ceramic method. The sintering behavior was studied to optimize parameters in order to get single phase dense (> 96% X-ray density) material. X-ray diffraction technique was used to ascertain the formation of single phase. The lattice constant, determined from observed d values, was found to decrease with increasing x. All the samples were observed to be inipervious to wafer. The co-efficient of linear thermal expansion was found to be of the order of 10 ppm/°C. The dielectric constant decreases with x.
