Statement of Retraction

This article refers to:
Improved Preparation of β‐d‐ManNAc‐(1→4)‐d‐Glc and β‐d‐TalNAc‐(1→4)‐d‐Glc Disaccharides and Evaluation of Their Activating Properties on the Natural Killer Cells NKR‐P1 and CD69 Receptors

We, the Editor and Publisher of Journal of Carbohydrate Chemistry, are retracting the following article:

Emanuele Attolino, Filippo Bonaccorsi, Giorgio Catelani, Felicia D’Andrea, Karel Křenek, Karel Bezouška, and Vladimir Křen “Improved Preparation of β‐d‐ManNAc‐(1→4)‐d‐Glc and β‐d‐TalNAc‐(1→4)‐d‐Glc Disaccharides and Evaluation of Their Activating Properties on the Natural Killer Cells NKR‐P1 and CD69 Receptors” Journal of Carbohydrate Chemistry, 27.3 (2008):156–171. http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/07328300802030845

Based on the findings of Taylor & Francis and the joint ethical committees of the Institute of Microbiology, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, and Charles University in Prague, Karel Bezouška, the author responsible for immunological experiments, manipulated experimental material in collaborating laboratories, subsequently fabricating the results of the experiments. After extensive re-evaluation experiments done by the rest of the corresponding authors, all the data on the binding of carbohydrates to the NKR-P1 and CD69 receptors has been further proven erroneous.

This action constitutes an ethical breach of warranties made by the author. We note we received, peer-reviewed, accepted, and published the article in good faith based on these warranties, and censure this action.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as RETRACTED.
