Abstract
Seven nucleotides linked through the γ-phosphate to diamine hydrocarbons were synthesized and coupled to Sepharose for use in protein purification affinity chromatography. The synthesis involved converting the nucleotides to nucleoside-5′-trimetaphosphates using dicyclohexyl carbodiimide, followed by nucleophilic ring opening of the trimetaphosphate with an α,ω-diamino hydrocarbon to generate a γ-phosphoamide linkage in each nucleotide.
