The China American Psychoanalytic Alliance (CAPA) Tour of a Lifetime

Pages 64-71 | Published online: 16 Jan 2020

ABSTRACT

The China American Psychoanalytic Alliance (CAPA) sponsors an annual tour of China for CAPA teachers, supervisors and therapists, their friends and family members, mental health professionals, and other people interested in China and mental health. The purpose of the tour is to form a deeper connection between CAPA members and the Chinese mental health professionals they teach and treat online. The highlights of the tour are the graduation ceremonies in Beijing, Chengdu, and Shanghai and the opportunity to see the joy on the faces of the motivated Chinese mental health professionals who have graduated from their CAPA programs of study. The author shares his memories of the 2017 CAPA tour he took with his wife and 13 other CAPA fellow travelers.
