1 I showed a rough draft of this article to my brother. He had a more complex memory of the rock incident. In his version, I had asked to see the rock. He had refused several times, arguing that he was sure I would throw it into the ocean. Finally, he relented and gave it to me, whereupon I promptly threw it into the ocean.
