Managing Editor’s Editorial

Dear Forum Reader,

This issue is basically another special issue. Asimina Christoforou, a renowned expert in Bourdieu, compiled a fine selection of articles on Bourdieu’s methodology, contributing to the strand of methodological discussion that has been set up in the Forum in recent years.

For technical reasons, however, we have decided to make this issue a double issue, the last issue of this year. So, we are able to present to you other topical material from our backlog. This is threefold:

First, we present another review article by Alberto Botta on the Financial and Capital sector.

Second, ASE Vice-President Steve Pressman dignifies in a reflecting note Ingrid Rima, prominent social economist for many decades, who passed away some time ago, an appreciation of her life, work and service to the academic process that was overdue.

Third, we also have become overdue to thank our reviewers of the last years for their vital contribution to the thriving of the Forum. Academia nowadays still has a structural problem with reviewing, as these contributions still are not properly appreciated, and particularly, yes, in financial terms. So much hard, often frustrating service for the academic commons, mostly just done on the basis of doing a favor to an appreciated colleague, a good academic acquaintance or even friend. Reviewing, thus, is not properly professionalized yet, and the scholarly journals have continuing problems in finding reviewers on a sufficiently fast and reliable basis. A problem that perhaps publishers and associations should address more appropriately. Anyway, THANKS, reviewers!

Enjoy this issue!
