Abstract
A number of novel structurally related diglycolamides compounds were synthesized by a modified efficient method. These compounds were applied to the extraction of selected actinides, lanthanides, and alkaline earth metals from nitric acid solutions using benzene as diluent. The extraction of nitric acid was also studied. The dependence of the extraction distribution ratio, DM, on the length of alkyl chain of the extractants as well as the type of diluents was investigated. The extraction of selected lanthanides, actinides, and divalent metal ions by TODGA and THDGA from nitric acid medium was studied in details. DM of the investigated metal ions has been studied as a function of aqueous HNO3 concentrations, diglycolamides concentration, and temperature.
