ABSTRACT

This article was an attempt to prepare energetic materials based on 1, 3, 5-trinitro-1, 3, 5-triazinane (RDX) using the electrospray method to expand its scope of application. After preparation, the morphologies and crystal structures of the samples were characterized, and thermal decomposition properties as well as mechanical sensitivities were also investigated. The sizes of the composite particles were found to be in the range of 2–4 μm. Compared with raw RDX, the crystal structures of the RDX/F2604 composites were unchanged. The activation energy of the composites was decreased with the increase of the F2604 mass ratio, and 10 wt% F2604 composites had the lowest activation energy. In the mechanical sensitivity aspect, the impact sensitivity and friction sensitivity of the RDX/F2604 composites were lower than those of raw RDX. 10 wt% F2604 composites had the highest H50 (65.9 cm) and the lowest friction sensitivity (76%).
