Abstract
Following a concise description of pulse combustion, the basic types of pulse-combustion dryers are presented, including spray dryers, rotary dryers, pneumatic dryers, and dryers of special design. The existing commercial applications and demonstration projects are listed, and potential applications are identified. Challenges in developing pulse-combustion dryers are pointed out. Key publications, patents, technology developers, suppliers, and selected users of pulse-combustion dryers are itemized.
