Judith Grant
Judith Grant is one of the editors of the journal New Political Science. She is a professor in political theory at Ohio University in Athens and is the author of, among other works, Fundamental Feminism: Radical Feminist History for the Future (second edition, Routledge, 2021).
Laura Katz Olson
Alix Lindsey Olson is an Assistant Professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Emory University-Oxford College. She holds a PhD in Political Science and a Graduate Degree in Advanced Feminist Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her all-women’s spoken word anthology, Word Warriors: 35 Women Leaders in the Spoken Word Revolution, was published by Seal in 2007 and she is currently at work on two book manuscripts: In Defense of Resistance (Columbia University Press), coauthored with Alex Zamalin, and The Promise(s) of Resilience: Governance and Resistance in Complex Times. Prior to Olson’s academic life, she toured internationally for over a decade as a spoken word artist. Her work has been featured in media outlets such as HBO’s Def Poetry Jam, Air America (with Rachel Maddow), NPR, The New York Times, and The Washington Post. She has appeared on the covers of Ms. and Curve Magazines, and on Showtime’s “The L-Word.”
Alix Lindsey Olson
Laura Katz Olson is AGF Distinguished Professor of Political Science at Lehigh University. She has published widely in the field of aging, health care, and women’s studies, her articles addressing social welfare policy, especially the problems of older women and elder care. She has published nine books, mostly focusing on U.S. health care and care of the frail elderly. Her latest, Ethically Challenged: Private Equity Storms U.S. Healthcare, is in press with Johns Hopkins University Press. She has been a Scholar at the Social Security Administration, a Gerontological Fellow, and a Fulbright Scholar. She has also lectured throughout Pennsylvania on Social Security, Medicare, and Long-term Care policies. Olson has served on the American Political Science Council and is on the editorial board of the New Political Science Journal. In 2009, she received the Charles A. McCoy Lifetime Achievement Award and, in 2012, Lehigh University’s Williamson Award in Social Research for her book The Politics of Medicaid.
