A Location-Allocation Model for a Two-Echelon Repair-Inventory System

Pages 222-228 | Received 01 Jan 1983, Published online: 06 Jul 2007

Abstract

In this paper a model is developed for determining physical location of a repair and stockage facility at the first echelon together with optimal allocation of recoverable spares to each location in a two-echelon repair-inventory system to minimize the total expected system cost. An illustrative example is included to indicate the application of the model and the iterative methodology developed.
