To the Editor,
We authors made an error when composing Table 1 of our manuscript. The entry for the country of Sweden regarding the “gap from dinner to sunset” was incorrectly listed as 149 minutes instead of the correct 209 minutes (3 hours + 29 minutes). Nonetheless, the revised results of the regression analysis remain highly statistically significant and very similar to the former results, with the correlation R = - 0.7886 (two-tailed p = 0.0115), instead of the previous R = - 0.8025 (two tailed p = 0.0092). The R square of the simple linear model explains 62% (instead of the previously stated 64%) of the variation within the data. The slope formula for this corrected analysis is Y = -1.250*X + 411.3, instead of Y = −1.320*X + 412.0, and the standard error of the corrected model is Sy.x = 107.3, instead of 104.1, with the F-statistic value now being 11.52, instead of the previously stated 12.66.
Hence, the sentence of the corrected last paragraph of our article should now properly read: “The relationship between death rate and interval of time (in min) of the dinner meal before local sundown was negative, with R = -0.7886 (two-tailed p = 0.0115). The R square of the simple linear model explains 62% of the variation within the data. The slope formula for this analysis is Y = -1.250*X + 411.3, and the standard error of the model is Sy.x = 107.3, with the F-statistic value being 11.52.”
