Since 1988 he has been Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Colorado College. His primary mathematical interests are ring theory and module theory, and recently he began studying algebraic geometry while on leave at Universität Regensburg. Mike has also taught high school students in Chicago and New Orleans and has particular concern for the mathematics education of students in low income areas and from groups underrepresented in the mathematical professions.
