TECHNOLOGICAL TOOLS FOR SCIENTIFIC THINKING AND DISCOVERY

Pages 23-41 | Published online: 28 Jul 2006

Abstract

Several technological tools have the potential to foster positive cognitive and attitudinal changes in science education. This paper reviews a few of the most promising tools and specifies how they benefit students with learning disabilities. Such benefits include emphasis on nonverbal images, improvements in student focus and communication skills, and the opportunity for a new beginning. Concluding comments feature specific guidelines which encourage the successful incorporation of technology into the classroom.
