The CiiEM Congress held at Egas Moniz Cooperative, Almada, between 20 and 22 of June 2018, is now in its third edition. This time it was a joint venture with the 3rd World Congress of the Unesco Chair for Teaching and Research in Digital Anatomy Paris-Descartes. We thank our colleagues from the UNESCO Chair for helping us put together a highly stimulating and scientifically robust Congress that left a lasting impression in all of us.

The innovative combination of methodologies and visions from different areas often allows approaches that can overcome barriers that hinder the scientific process. We are proud to see the CiiEM Congress steadily growing in quality and quantity, and also to become an international forum for discussion of scientific advances. CiiEM and all its members are in debt to the teams that joined efforts to put together the initiative and wish the best success for the organizers of the next Congress scheduled for 2–5 June 2019.
