Call for state-of-the-art reviews

Page 507 | Published online: 10 Mar 2017

The International Journal of Water Resources Development invites expressions of interest to prepare State-of-the-Art reviews. These reviews should objective and critically synthetize current knowledge in specific water-related areas.

While the Journal will consider all types of state-of-the-art reviews by subjects and geographic regions, following areas are of specific interest:

– Management of non-point sources of pollution.

– Emerging contaminants and their potential health implications.

– Social perceptions and attitudes to non-traditional sources of water for potable use (e.g. recycled wastewater, desalination, etc.).

– Comparative analyses of water governance by regions, countries or sectors.

– Institutional arrangements: formal and informal, top-down and down-top.

– Legal and regulatory frameworks for water management.

– Economic instruments for water demand management.

– Experiences of water demand management for urban, agricultural and industrial sectors as well as for the environment, and their interlinkages.

– Water reuse practices of domestic and industrial sectors.

– Advances in groundwater management.

– Energy requirements for water production, transportation and delivery as well as wastewater treatment.

– Infrastructure development.

– Role of the private sector in the domestic, industrial and agricultural sectors.

– Effectiveness of public-private partnerships and lessons that could be learnt from them.

– Non-governmental organisations as development partners.

Expressions of interest should be sent to Dr. Cecilia Tortajada, Editor in Chief, International Journal of Water Resources Development, e-mail: [email protected]
